Office for Mission & Ministry
The Office of Mission and Ministry oversees university-wide initiatives that encourage deeper understanding of LMU's Catholic identity and Jesuit / RSHM / CSJ heritage, including such events as Mission Day and Companions in Mission.
John T. Sebastian, Ph.D. is the Vice President for Mission & Ministry.
Center for Ignatian Spirituality
The Center for Ignatian Spirituality is primarily an experiential resource for LMU faculty and staff, especially through the process of discernment so characteristic of Ignatian spirituality: reflection upon lived experience.
Resident Ministry
Resident Ministers are priests, sisters, and lay ministers who live in each of our residence halls and apartments and provide spiritual guidance, individual support for life challenges, and programming related to the University's mission and religious identity.
Jesuit Community
LMU's on-campus community of Jesuits. Jesuits are members of the worldwide Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic religious order founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius Loyola. Trained in the asceticism of St. Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises, Jesuits have distinguished themselves as missionaries, pastors, scholars, artists, and educators over the centuries. They believe that God can be found in all things and that their efforts to link faith and culture are made more reliable when those efforts help to create a just society. Whatever their endeavors, Jesuits try to live by the Ignatian motto Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (everything for the greater glory of God.)
