Reserving the Chapels
Please note that Sacred Heart Chapel will be undergoing renovation works to the front entryway from June 1 – August 28, 2026.
During this period, chapel access will only be possible via the west doors adjacent to the Sculpture Garden.
Chapels can only be reserved by LMU faculty, staff, and in-residence Jesuits.
If you are interested in reserving The Cave beneath Sacred Heart Chapel, contact william.gish@lmu.edu at least two weeks before your event. Be aware The Cave is not a public space, and may only be used by outside organizations at the discretion of Campus Ministry staff.
Campus Ministry currently operates four of the six chapels on campus, which, aside from daily and public worship, are open for private worship and approved, non-liturgical events. University entities are welcome to request use of Chapel of the Sacred Heart, Mary Chapel, and Leavey Chapel.
To begin the process of reserving the chapel and planning your non-Wedding liturgy or event at LMU, we ask that you fill out the Chapel Reservation Request form. Please submit requests at least five business days before the proposed event.
If you are requesting multiple days for the same reason (e.g., choir rehearsal), please submit one form with all date requests listed.
If your request is approved, you will be asked to provide a donation (details on the Chapel Reservation Form) for use of the space.
Please remember that these chapels are sacred spaces for Catholic worship and not event halls or conference centers. Campus Ministry retains the right to refuse use of the chapels to anyone for any reason.
For information on reserving the chapel for the Sacrament of Matrimony, please visit our Baptism & Marriage page. Weddings require a different Chapel Request Form and reservation process.
