Montserrat Pilgrimages

A Montserrat Pilgrimage is an intentional time away spent actively engaging in your faith and spiritual journey. During Montserrat, participants will explore their faith in new cultural and historical contexts, participate in daily prayer opportunities, 1-1 spiritual conversations with mentors, and engage in nightly spiritual reflection.

Recap of 2026 Pilgrimages:

Montserrat Ignatian Pilgrimage (Northern Spain & Rome)

Montserrat Pilgrimage was an unforgettable experience that gave me the opportunity to deepen my faith, reflect on who I am, and think about the person I hope to become. Through moments of spiritual reflection and meaningful conversations with such a thoughtful group of students, I gained a deeper appreciation for my faith, the world around me, and the people in my life. I returned home with a renewed sense of gratitude and with lasting connections and memories that I will carry with me for years to come.

Montserrat Interfaith Pilgrimage (Southern Spain)

“The interfaith pilgrimage was an amazing experience, and I had so much fun visiting different sites in Southern Spain. My favorite part of the pilgrimage was visiting the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and having conservations about sacred spaces. Throughout the pilgrimage we shared so much laughter and joy together, and it was such a wonderful opportunity to be in community with one another. Even after the pilgrimage, I am continuing to think about the sites we visited, conversations we shared, and my own role in creating an inclusive interfaith space in the communities I am a part of."

Montserrat Pilgrimages is named for Our Lady of Montserrat because of her importance to the life of St. Ignatius. He stood before the Blessed Mother, the Black Madonna, Our Lady of Montserrat and here he surrendered his sword and picked up a pilgrim staff. This moment signifies one of choice in the spiritual life. Giving up the symbol of his old life, laying it at the foot of our Lady, was a choice he made. And from there, a new life took root. Montserrat Pilgrimages are an invitation and a choice to deepen and explore your own faith and spirituality through global travel.
