About the event:
LMU faculty, staff and students, and members of our local community are invited to attend a talk by Kathleen McChesney, Ph.D., on the topic of “Secrets, Scandal, and Shame: What We Know about Sex Abuse in the Catholic Church.” The program will be followed by a dialogue with the audience and a light reception.
About the speaker:
Dr. McChesney held key leadership positions in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Catholic Bishops’ Conference and The Walt Disney Company before establishing Kinsale Management Consulting. Dr. McChesney was selected by the United States Catholic Bishops’ Conference to establish and lead their Office of Child Protection where she developed and administered a national compliance mechanism to ensure that all Catholic dioceses complied with civil laws and internal policies relative to the prevention, reporting and response to the sexual abuse of minors.
