30. Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Rose Window image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is appropriately the first of the stained glass windows, since the Chapel is dedicated with this name on the cornerstone. The window itself is situated high over the front doors of Sacred Heart Chapel, facing the central mall of Loyola Marymount University.

The symbolism of the heart of Christ is held in great reverence by Jesuits, who have always understood themselves as companions of Jesus, drawn by his love for all humanity to serve in a like manner. The Jesuit colleges and universities throughout the world are but one expression of a desire to express the love of Christ in deeds more than in words.
