Fr. Robert V. Caro, S.J. 

Fr. Caro is currently Alumni Chaplain on the Westchester campus.

He previously served as LMU’s inaugural Vice President for Mission and Ministry, retiring from that role in 2017.   

His initial assignment, spanning the years 1976-2006, was as an English professor.  Fr. Caro taught Shakespeare, the Poetry of Meditation, and the Bible as Literature, among other courses.  His scholarship and occasional publications focused on Hopkins as a meditative poet and explored characterization in Shakespeare in light of the Ignatian Rules for Discernment. 

Fr. Caro also contributed his study of “Ethnic Diversity and Religious Identity in U.S. Catholic Higher Education” to Current Issues in Catholic Higher Education (25:2, 2006, 795-814).
