Alignment with Current Sustainability Frameworks
Like many institutions of higher education, LMU is already working towards sustainability-related goals that align with those of the Laudato Si' Action Platform. Those current frameworks are:
- United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by all UN member states
- Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society of Jesus (UAP), the four apostolic priorities for the Jesuits and their ministries worldwide through 2029
- Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), a framework by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance
- Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI), a United Nations-supported framework of seven principles for investing that account for environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues
Below, we have highlighted how the goals of these frameworks may align with the seven Laudato Si' goals, which illustrate the opportunities we have as a university community to advance this work.
