Talking about cancer with those who have first-hand experience is one of the greatest means of support for those who are dealing with the disease in themselves or in someone they love.
Some members of LMU faculty and staff have inaugurated a “cancer mentoring network” for those of us who have had cancer recently or are caretakers of loved ones with cancer.
The mentors are available to speak with faculty staff or students at any time, to answer questions, give examples of their experiences with chemotherapy treatments, radiation, oral medications, a multitude of tests, proper nutrition, and the “ups and downs” of being caregivers or cancer patients.
The listing of mentors is available only to members of the LMU community, and can be accessed here.
